SUMMARY

Employees will be scheduled to perform a variety of jobs within the company based upon customer requirements and/or production schedules which includes clerical and office positions.

Plans, develops, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes. Responsible for the design of production tools and/or machines for developing solutions to production problems relating to materials, processes and tooling. Develops new production processes, designing tooling and machinery. Will set up new equipment to ensure satisfactory operation of new equipment and instruct others to use the machine while performing the following duties.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Will be required to work with various departments to create, modify and/or improve machines, fixtures or tooling to ensure a safe and productive work process & environment.

Must be able to work with department Supervisors, Leads and employees to identify problem areas.

Maintain a working relationship with the company's Engineering department sharing common goals to improve production and quality standards (ISO 9001).

Required to work with entities within and out of the company such as vendors to complete assigned tasks.

Design tools and/or machines of varying types for use in manufacturing company products.

Develops and writes processes, methods, tooling and production controls for new programs; supervising their assembly and proofing.

Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.

Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.

Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.

Installs machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.

Develops specifications from general description and draws sketch of part or product to be fabricated utilizing the Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) skills.

Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.

Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.

Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.

Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.

Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.

Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.

Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.

Stay informed concerning new manufacturing technology and equipment and investigate potential applications. Recommend incorporation of new technology for company applications where feasible and practical.

Must have the ability to work well alone & in teams of co-workers.

Must possess the ability to follow instructions, accept constructive criticism, and convert this information into a productive and positive outcome.

Will comply with all Safety policies and procedures at all times while on company property and conducting company business.

May utilize and/or operate machines or tools that mill, drill, or saw. Machines that a Manufacturing Engineer may use in the performance of their jobs include: Any machine essential to the task, Drills, saws, retaining tool machine and computer.

SUMMARY
Plans and prepares production schedules for manufacture of products by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Draws up schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.

Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.

Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.

Plans sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers.

SUMMARY Employees will be scheduled to perform a variety of jobs within the company based upon customer requirements and/or production schedules which includes clerical and office positions.

Build and maintain dies, molds, custom tools, and machinery. Analyzes specifications, lays out metal stock, sets up and operates machine tools, and fits and assembles parts to fabricate and repair metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs and fixtures, gauges, and machinists' handtools by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

-Must have a complete knowledge of standard machine shop equipment. This includes basic operation, safety, advanced setups, and the dimension tolerance that can be obtained with each machine. Machines that are operated include (but are not limited to) CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, CNC Grinders, EDM Machines, Bridgeport Style Mills, Tool room Lathes, Engine Lathes, Drill Presses, Surface Grinders, Tool Grinders, Tool Post Grinders, Drill Sharpeners, Horizontal Band saws, Vertical Bandsaws, Belt Sanders, Bench Grinders, Tig, Arc, Mig, and Gas Welders.

-Must have a comprehensive knowledge of precision measuring tools. This includes basic operation, the various methods each can be used, the tolerance that can be obtained through each method, and the ability to verify calibration using standards. Tools used include Inside, Outside Blade, Thread, Anvil, and Depth Micrometers, Calipers, Dial and Test Indicators, Height Gages, Optical and Shadow Comparators, Gage Pins and Blocks, Thread Pitch and Hole Gages.

-Must have exceptional blueprint skills. Must be able to visualize complex parts from 2 dimensional drawings. Must be familiar with all aspects of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. Must be able to recognize how dimension tolerances interact and choose the manufacturing process/processes that will obtain the desired results in an efficient manner. Must be able to create (manual drafting) clear, complete blueprints to document work or processes.

-Must be able to create (engineer) tools and fixtures for simple production operations.

-Must be able to take measurements and produce new components from existing components (reverse engineer).

-Must be able to perform (engineer) repairs to production equipment.

-Must be able to troubleshoot and repair machine problems with various production machines including problems with feeds and speeds, vibration, machine wear, tool damage, tool clearance, machine adjustment.

-Must have basic knowledge of cutting edges including angles, proper clearance, and sharpening methods for drills, various end mill types, saws, lathe cutting tools, boring bars, and inserted tools.

-Must have a basic understanding of material properties including the strengths and weaknesses of material types, and matching machining processes, and heat-treating.

-Must have a strong knowledge of building and troubleshooting Stamping Dies including knowledge of Piercing, Forming, Bend Radii, Clearance, Drawing, Extruding, Spring Travel, Spring Pressure, Alignment, Strippers, Progression, Stops, Tonnage, and Basic Die Construction standards.

Summary
Works to continuously improve overall quality and the processes in the department.

Responsible for Quality System Maintenance.

Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns.

Assist Quality Manager in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality management system.

Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen lean methods, etc.

Develop training to build quality awareness.

Interface with Engineering and Operations to ensure transfer to Production of new products are in accordance with approved data.

Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.

Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc.

Responsible for planning, organizing and managing the overall activities of receiving/outgoing quality functions.

Entire timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions and preventative actions.

Manage suppliers' performance and conduct audits.

Inspects product to determine compliance with order specifications, quality control system for compliance with legal requirements and conformity to specified standards.
