Press-fit

Instructions for installing press-fit connectors on PCB or backplane

Press-fit connector installation to the PCB

Applicable Tools:

The tooling for press-fit connector installation includes seating tools, nesting blocks, and an arbor press.

Instructions
  1. Select correct installation tooling.
  2. Install correct tooling into arbor press.
  3. Position connector on PCB or backplane. The PCB or backplane should be supported underneath to prevent board flexure and damage to the contact tails. Positronic can supply nesting blocks for this purpose.
  4. Carefully align tooling with connector mating face.
  5. Press connector into PCB or backplane.
  6. Secure the connector to the PCB or backplane using hardware.
